Enwin, Rotary Partner To Bring Sculpture To Windsor

Enwin Utilities and the Rotary Club of Windsor 1918 want to install a new sculpture along the riverfront.

The sculpture, by artist Nicholas de Cosson, is an illuminated geometric shape. It is a legacy gift to the community.

"We are delighted to contribute a beacon of light and energy that will identify Windsor from across the border and become a lasting legacy to enjoy for many years to come," says Enwin CEO Helga Reidel.

The sculpture will be installed in the new Centennial Plaza which is currently under construction on Riverside Dr. between Goyeau and McDougall St.

When it is finished, the plaza will include spiralling pathways, landscaping, tables, benches, a time capsule and commemorative plaques.

The cost of building the plaza is around $395,000 with the expense being shared by the City of Windsor and Rotary.

Construction started last August, and the grand opening is planned for May 2018.
