Windsor Offers E-Permits For Builders

The City of Windsor is making it easier to build in Windsor with a new e-permitting system.

The system allows architects, contractors or homeowners to submit digital drawings, payments and more online.

Chief Building Official John Revell says it's something the building community has been requesting for many years.

"They're very interested in this, it's something that they've been asking for. They wanted the ability to make payments online, to submit applications electronically, to give us paperless drawings and to be able to see the progress or the status of their review," says Revell.

The system will be available starting March 6, 2018. The traditional method is still available for people not comfortable with an online system. Eventually, the city plans to go paperless and will have kiosks at the new city hall to allow people to upload their plans electronically.
