Two Kidnapped During Home Invasion

Two men have been charged and Windsor police are looking for another after two people were kidnapped during a home invasion.

The Windsor Police Service says on Saturday shortly before 7am, two men forced their way into a home on Charles St. between Lillian Ave. and Remmington Ave.  The men used a knife to threaten a male and two females in the home.  The male victim was also assaulted during the home invasion. The two attackers made off with some property from the home and forced the two females into their vehicle, before driving to another house along Riberty Rd.

Police officers responded to the home to the home on Charles St., and the male victim who was assaulted was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Officers then responded to the Riberty Rd. home and arrested two men without incident. The two female victims were also located at the home, along with some of the stolen property.

Police say one of the suspects is alleged to have been directly involved in the home invasion and kidnapping, while the other was inadvertently involved.

Cylas Gilbert, 40, of Windsor, is now charged with break and enter, assault with a weapon, two counts of kidnapping, assault, three counts of forcible confinement, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, three counts of uttering threats,  and breach of probation.

David Ingram, a 48-year-old from Windsor, is also charged with obstructing justice and accessory after the fact

Police are still attempting to identify the second suspect involved in the home invasion, who is believed to have gotten out of the vehicle before the two female victims were brought to the home on Riberty Rd.

He is described as a male with an olive complexion, 30-40 years old, 6'3" tall, 225-250lbs, with a large build, and a large nose.  He was last seen wearing a black toque, a black sweater and black pants.
