Caesars Donates Backpacks To Keep Homeless Warm

It has already been a frigid and snowy February, and Caesars Windsor wants to make sure some of the city's most vulnerable have some comforts this winter.

More than 400 backpacks filled with the essentials have been donated to Street Help and the Downtown Mission.

Each backpack contains a winter hat, gloves, socks, and toiletries.

"Our employees answered the call to support Street Help and the Downtown Mission by volunteering their time, either their lunch hour, their break or staying after their shift to give back to those in need," says Caesars Windsor Manager of Human Resources Nicole Howick.

The backpacks will be handed out to those who visit those agencies and are in need.

"We are working to end homelessness and enable people to get back on their feet and for those who face nights on the streets in this cold weather," says Downtown Mission Executive Director Ron Dunn. "Having clean, warm items are essential for both dignity and survival."
