Canine Unit Makes Arrest After Car Crash

The Windsor police canine unit tracked down a driver who allegedly took off from the scene of a collision late Tuesday night.

Police responded to a crash at Howard Ave. and Tuson Way around 11:45 Tuesday. They were told that the driver and passenger of one of the vehicles left the scene.

Police used the canine unit to track down the suspected driver in a wooded area near a parking lot at Dougall Ave and Cabana Rd. He was arrested without further incident.

The investigation is ongoing. A 30-year-old man from Windsor is facing charges of leaving the scene of an accident and breach of probation.

The female driver of the other vehicle was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
