Maroons Fall To Vipers 9-4

The LaSalle Vipers made short work of the Chatham Maroons in a 9-4 victory on Wednesday.

The Vipers were first to strike with Aidan Ryan scoring 27 seconds into the game, followed by Manny Silverio who made it 2-0 for LaSalle. Joshua Maine scored for Chatham 7:22 into the first frame, but Stefan Dobrich scored before the end of the period to give the Vipers a 3-1 lead.

Heading into the second, Bryce Yetman scored early in the frame for Chatham, but again the Vipers countered when Max Sieberer scored minutes after. Grant Spence gave the Maroons' their third goal of the game just under ten minutes into the second, but Zane Dalpe and Aaron Shaw added to more points for LaSalle in the last three minutes of the period.

Vipers continued to capitalize on their chances with Ryan scoring his second of the evening after just 37 seconds into the third period. Bryce Yetman added a goal for Chatham 7:33 into the frame, but LaSalle fired back with another goal by Evan Ferguson who made it 8-4. Silverio capped off the win for the Vipers with one final goal with just over seven minutes left in the game.

Vipers goalie James Walker had 26 saves out of 30 shots on net, while Maroons goaltender Ryan Wagner made 29 saves out of 38 shots.

The Vipers will head to Komoka on Saturday to take on the Kings at 7:15pm. And then on Sunday, the Maroons return home to battle the Leamington Flyers at 7pm.
