Changes At Caesars Windsor Bring Layoffs

Caesars Windsor will begin a multi-million dollar renovation of all hotel rooms in the Forum Tower early in 2018.

It's part of the Property Enhancement plan that began with the renovation of Ariius Nightclub and two restaurant outlets.

The plan also includes the closure of the Artist Cafe, which will result in about 30 layoffs. Some staff will be transferred to other parts of the casino and others will be offered early retirement packages.

“Layoffs are always a last resort. After careful consideration of all of our options, we have made this difficult decision. Caesars Windsor must remain competitive to ensure the overall health of our business and secure the jobs of more than 2,500 employees into the future,” says Kevin Laforet, regional president for Caesars Entertainment.

The hotel rooms will be getting a "refreshing modern makeover" by Toronto-based designer mackaywong.
