Spitfires Down Wolves 7-2

Aaron Luchuk led the Windsor Spitfires to a 7-2 victory over the Sudbury Wolves on Friday.

The Wolves drew first blood with a goal early in first period and held a 1-0 advantage heading into the second.

Logan Brown kicked things off for Windsor with a goal 5:35 into the second frame to tie things up. Luchuk scored shortly after to put the Spitfires in the lead.  Mathew MacDougall added another for Windsor and Brown scored his second of the night to make it 4-1 heading into the final period.

Luchuk scored again early in the third, and Sudbury added one goal of their own with just over seven minutes left to play.  However, Luchuk completed a hat-trick by scoring 14:31 into the frame, and Sean Day scored in the final two minutes of the game to cap off Windsor's win.

Spitfires goaltender Michael DiPietro made 24 saves out of 26 shots on net.

The Spitfires are back on the ice on Sunday to take on the Owen Sound Attack at 2pm.
