Mayor Hold Walk To Honour Woman Attacked On Trail

Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens is holding a community walk in honour of the woman who was viciously attacked on the Ganatchio Trail last week.

He's asking members of the public to join him, members of Neighbourhood Watch and the Windsor police for the walk on Sunday, October 15, 2017.

“It was an unprovoked, vicious and random assault that has put her in hospital fighting for her life, and it has left our community bewildered. This walk is being held to show our support for Mrs. Widholm and her family, to reassure each other that our community stands together as one in times of distress, and to reaffirm that our community’s parks and trails are safe,” says Dilkens.

The walk starts at the Little River parking lot near Riverdale Ave. at 11:00am.

Windsor police have charged a 21-year-old male in the assault.
