Premier Aviation Gains New Owner

Premier Aviation, which operates a hangar at the Windsor International Airport, has been purchased by AAR.

AAR is the largest maintenance, repair and overhaul provider in the Americas, and the third in the world, with more than 5,000 employees in 20 countries.

The agreement is to buy the operation in Windsor and one in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec.

"We are honoured that a company with the reputation, breadth, and depth of AAR has recognized the quality of our MRO facilities," says Premier Aviation President Ronnie DiBartolo. "This transaction also allows Premier to focus its resources on future areas of growth."

Premier opened in Windsor in 2012, and the hangar can hold six narrow-bodied aircraft. The hangar at the airport in Trois-Rivieres began operations a year earlier and can accommodate up to seven aircraft.

Over 300 aviation mechanics and personnel at the two hangars will keep their jobs based on expected workload.
