Willistead Restoration Work Commences

Restoration work is about to begin on Walkerville's historic Willistead Manor.

Around $1.95-million will be spent to restore the windows and complete roof repairs and restore stucco, wood and masonry work. The City of Windsor earmarked $750,000 in the 2016 and the 2017 capital budget and another $450,000 was committed from the Government of Canada.

As a result of the work scaffolding will be going up around some areas of the building and some areas will be cordoned off. The majority of the grounds will remain open.

Most of the work is expected to be completed by March 31, 2018.
