LaSalle Ready For Transit

The Town of LaSalle is ready to launch transit service in the town.

"The comments have all been positive. I think that's its just a part of the growth of our community. It's just a natural fit for an urbanized community to provide that type of service," says LaSalle Mayor Ken Antaya.

The service starts September 5, 2017, and will be offered through Transit Windsor. Fares on LaSalle Route 25 will be free until January 1, 2018.

"If they take a bus ride and they don't like it, then they're not out anything.  But, if they do, then they see that there's a chance for them to really have a great service basically at their front door," says Antaya.

LaSalle will be covered by one route utilizing two buses; one starting at St. Clair College, and one in the area of Morton Drive at Front Road.

Residents were given a chance to ask questions and tour a Transit Windsor bus at an event Wednesday night.
