Things Get Out Of Hand At Lacrosse Game

A 30-year-old man faces one count of assault with a weapon after an incident at a Windsor Clippers versus Wallaceburg Red Devils lacrosse game.

The Windsor Police Service was called to Forest Glade Arena just before 10pm Wednesday, to find large groups of people gathered near a temporary barricade separating two dressing room areas.

Officers describe the atmosphere as very tense, but they were able to disperse the crowd.

Witnesses told police that a man had hit someone with a lacrosse stick. After investigating, officers found an 18-year-old victim who had suffered minor injuries.

An arrest was made shortly after that.

The Windsor Police Service is reminding residents that even though competitive sporting matches can get emotional, the competition should take place during the event, and all citizens are still bound by the law when it comes to their actions.
