Fireworks Light Up The Sky Despite Rain

The wind and rain didn't dampen people's opinions of the 59th Ford Fireworks Monday night.

The rain fell just minutes before the first fireworks burst in the sky. While some tried to run for cover, others sat back and enjoyed the show.

"I loved it! I haven't been down for a couple years so I was just dying to get here and I loved it even through the rain," says Tricia Winik, a spectator at the fireworks.

Another spectator, Sherry Ketterer, says nothing compares to being downtown and feeling the vibrations of the fireworks.

"It was amazing, spectacular. We've seen it more than 50 times I think and this one was our favourite," says Ketterer.

Windsor police, along with neighbouring police services and EMS patrolled the downtown streets and directed traffic after the show to get everyone home safely. No major incidents were reported as of 12am.
