Police have arrested one of two suspects wanted in connection with a robbery at a Windsor pharmacy.
The Windsor Police Service says on June 9 around 7:30am, two men entered the pharmacy on Provincial Rd. near Cabana Rd. E, pulled out a handgun and demanded narcotics. The two men, whose faces were covered by clothing, left the scene heading east on Division Rd. in a silver or gray SUV. No one was injured during the robbery.
Mitchell Wynants, 26, of Windsor is now charged with armed robbery, wearing a disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence, four counts of fraud under $5,000, three counts of possession/use of a credit card obtained by crime, and possession of stolen property. He was arrested on Wednesday at around 6:15pm, in the area of Glengarry Ave. and Tuscarora St., in connection with a separate fraud investigation. Police have since identified him as a suspect in the pharmacy robbery.
Windsor police are continuing to search for the second suspect who is described as a white male, 20-25 years old, 5'8" tall, with dark hair. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded jacket, a black t-shirt, blue jeans, and black running shoes.
