Buskerfest Is Back And Bigger

The second annual Buskerfest will be held in Walkerville in Windsor this August with new shows and attractions.

The event, from August 11 to 13, will go ahead rain or shine on Wyandotte St. E from Lincoln Rd. to Devonshire Rd.

This year's event will include a street circus, magic shows, comedy specials, and acrobats.

A new addition this year is an indoor show, which Executive Director Mark Lefebvre says will be fully accessible.

"My mom, for instance, she can't stand out in the sun for very long, she needs to sit down and get a little bit of shade," he says. "We spoke to families last year who have children with autism, and so, loud noises can bother them -- in an inside setting we can control the lighting and the sound."

There will also be a new After Dark 19+ event at Walkerville Brewery at night.

"It's an opportunity for the buskers to join in, and do a bit of a variety show," says Lefebvre. "Because it's an adult only show, the banter and jokes, [we] don't have to worry about offending small children."

The Buskerfest will not just host shows but restaurants, and shops will as well. The local restaurants will have extended patios, and the shops will also be open.
