Musyj Ready To Defend Rezoning

Windsor Regional Hospital CEO David Musyj is preparing for a fight when the rezoning request for the new hospital appears before Windsor city council.

That's not expected until the fall but Musyj says he fully expects that once it passes it will be appealed to the Ontario Municipal Board.

"We'll go through that process, whatever it might be. Hopefully it doesn't happen but individuals in this community who are still against this project are indicating that they are going to appeal it," says Musyj.

Musyj says they will actively proceed with phase two of the project as the situation works itself out but he fully expects to develop on the location off of County Rd. 42.

"Unfortunately it will cost resources to defend that but we have no other choice because every single one of the 22 properties that were part of the process would have had to have some kind of zoning change," says Musyj.

Phase Two of the project includes putting down in writing everything that is needed in the hospital and how it is expected to look. Those documents will then be handed to an architect for phase three of the project. Musyj says all of these planning documents will be based on the County Rd. 42 location.
