Throaty Wipes Garnering More Attention

A University of Windsor creative writing professor and author is being recognized yet again.

Susan Holbrook has been named one of six English-language finalists for Ontario's Trillium Book Award for her work, titled Throaty Wipes.

The same book had Holbrook nominated for the Governor General's Literary Award in Poetry last fall.

The Trillium Book Award is broken down into four categories: two for French and English, one for English poetry, and another for French children's literature.  Each category winner will receive $20,000, while their respective publishers get $2,500 to further promote the books.

"Ontario's literature is a window into our province's unique experience, which is all the more relevant in Ontario's 150th anniversary year," says Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport Eleanor McMahon. "Through their work, these authors are helping us embrace the culture of inclusion, innovation and opportunity that defines Ontario."

The award winners will be announced June 20, in Toronto.
