March For Science In Windsor

A March for Science is happening on Windsor's waterfront this Saturday in conjunction with marches happening worldwide.

The purpose of the rally is to discuss the importance of science in every day life and a call for continued research support locally and around the world.

Organizer Allison Mistakidis says they want to promote science as a way of thinking about the world.

"There will be over 500 marches happening on the same day worldwide, on April 22, which is Earth Day. We want to promote science in this area," says Mistakidis.

The march begins at 10am at Assumption Park. The day will includes speeches from local researchers, a walk along the waterfront and will end with science based children's activities.

"I just really am passionate about science and I really think it's important that children especially learn at a young age how to use science as a way of thinking," says Mistakidis.
