Earth Hour Festivities In Windsor

The City of Windsor is celebrating Earth Hour again this year.

This year, the public is invited to a free celebration at Charles Clark Square where participants will be entertained by a drumming circle, candle dancers, a poetry reading, a choir and a drumming band.

You can also sample Earth-friendly food and drink.

The World Wildlife Fund started Earth Hour a decade ago, and the City of Windsor has taken part for the past eight years. It's usually observed the last Saturday in March to send a message about climate change and how individuals can make a positive difference.

The event gets underway at 8pm, and at 8:30pm power will be shut off at all city facilities, and at Caesars Windsor.

Even if you do not intend to attend, the public can participate by turning off the lights in their home for an hour.
