Players Honoured At GOJHL Western Conference Awards

A number of players from the Chatham Maroons, LaSalle Vipers, and Leamington Flyers were all honoured during the GOJHL Western Conference Awards Banquet in St. Thomas.

On Monday, the LaSalle Vipers were given the Stan Moore Award for holding first place in the Western Conference, while Viper Liam MacDougall was awarded as the CHOK Player of the Year.  Also from the Vipers, Liam MacDougall received the Chester Pegg Award for outstanding ability and sportsmanship.

Braden Henderson of the Chatham Maroons was handed the CIMCO Refrigeration award for the most outstanding first year as a defenceman.  As well, the Southland Insurance Award for top points rookie went to Maroon Kevin Gursoy, while the Kevin McIntosh Award was given to Steven Beenackers of the Maroons for his performance as a defensive forward.

The following players were named First Team All-Stars:

  • Defence – Quinn Lenihan – London Nationals
  • Defence – Mitch Crevatin – Leamington Flyers
  • Forward – Austin Thompson – Chatham Maroons
  • Forward – Liam MacDougall – LaSalle Vipers
  • Forward – Brenden Trottier – London Nationals
The All-Rookie Team included the following players:
  • Goalie – Jorgen Johnson – Sarnia Legionnaires
  • Defence – Braden Henderson – Chatham Maroons
  • Defence – Tim Fallowfield – St. Thomas Stars
  • Forward – Kevin Gursoy – Chatham Maroons
  • Forward – Wes Dobbin – Lambton Shores Predators
  • Forward – Cody Schneider – Strathroy Rockets
