Windsor Regional Hospital's Breast Health Centre is benefiting from a cupcake fundraiser at the Windsor Assembly Plant.
Unifor Local 444 sold 3,000 cupcakes, raising $7,000, which went towards renovating the centre's waiting area and maintaining its mammography machines.
"It's very stressful for most women to come and get a mammogram, so having a nice, relaxed atmosphere, just helps to easy that stress before they go in for an exam," says Director Colleen Nelson.
Nelson adds that the Breast Health Centre saw about 20,000 patients in 2016.
