UPDATE: Power Restored in Leamington

The lights are back on in Leamington and portions of Wheatley.

An equipment issue caused an outage that put over four thousand Essex Power customers in the dark for over five hours.

Essex Power says that the problem was caused by the tripping of a breaker at a station belonging to Hydro One.  Crews had spent several hours replacing a pole and a cross arm at that station.

The outage had stretched from Ruthven in Essex County all the way over to just east of Wheatley in Chatham-Kent, according to a map provided by Hydro One's website.

Hydro One's website showed that power had been restored completely by 9pm Sunday.
