Windsor To Show Its Solidarity

Windsor residents will join the thousands of Canadians across the country showing solidarity in the aftermath of Sunday's terrorist attack at a Quebec City mosque.

There will be a vigil Tuesday night on the north side of City Hall Square starting at 7pm.

There is also a vigil at the Carnegie Parkette in Kingsville at 7pm.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, in Quebec City Monday night for one of the many vigils, read the first name of each of the six victims and told the gathered crowd, "We stand with you, we love you and we support you."

Vigils to denounce Islamophobia were also held in Halifax, Montreal, Calgary, Regina and Winnipeg.  There was also a vigil in London's Victoria Park.

The man accused in the shooting Sunday night, 27-year-old Alexandre Bissonette,  faces six counts of first-degree murder and five counts of attempted murder. He returns to court on February 21.
