Knife-Wielding Robbery Suspect Arrested

A 29-year-old Windsor man is facing charges after two attempted robberies at convenience stores over the weekend.

Police say the first happened Friday around 9:45pm, on Ouellette Ave. at Tuscarora St.

The suspect had picked a few items off the store shelves and then allegedly flashed a knife at the clerk when at the counter, demanding cash. The accused didn't get anything and took off on foot.

Just 15 minutes later, officers were called to another convenience store on Ouellette Ave. at University Ave. to hear a similar story from that store's clerk.

The 29-year-old suspect was spotted in downtown Windsor around 6:45pm on Sunday and was arrested. He is now charged with two counts of robbery.
