Officials in Cleveland, Ohio confirm they have found human remains and the cockpit voice recorder from a small plane that went down in Lake Erie.
Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner Thomas Gilson confirms the remains are that of a male. The remains were DNA tested.
Burke Lakefront Airport Commissioner Khalid Bahhur says 170 pieces of debris have been found so far including a piece of the Cessna Citation 525's fuselage, the engine, seats, a wheel and a section of the plane's canopy.
Personal items and clothing have also been found by divers.
The cockpit voice recorder was found Friday and is in Washington now for analysis. Bahhur says that will be a long process, possibly taking up to a year.
Meanwhile, Cleveland Division of Police is continuing foot patrols and helicopter searches along the shore for other debris.
The plane, en route from Cleveland to an airport in Columbus, Ohio on December 29, disappeared from radar shortly after takeoff with six people on board. Those on board include 46-year-old John T. Fleming, the president and CEO of the Superior Beverage Group, his wife and two teenaged sons and two neighbours, Brian Casey and his 19-year-old daughter, Megan.
