St. Clair College is celebrating its 50th anniversary in the community in 2017.
In 1967, the college opened and had 300 students enrolled in business and technology programs, many of whom were learning in portables on the current main campus.
"From that humble beginning to 2017 where we have 9,500 students on four campuses which include Windsor, Chatham and Toronto," says Ann Hetherington, director of marketing and student recruitment.
The milestone will be marked with two homecoming weekend events, one in Windsor and one in Chatham. Windsor will celebrate with alumni and college supporters on from May 19-21 by holding a golf tournament and gala events at the downtown campus. Chatham will celebrate the anniversary with a homecoming September 30 to October 1.
