Aggravated Assault Suspect In Custody

A 48-year-old Leamington man, wanted for allegedly stabbing a woman in the neck and hands, has turned himself in to Essex County OPP.

Officers responded to the stabbing incident on January 4 around 9:50pm on Sturgeon Meadows Ave. in Leamington.

A 34-year-old woman was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

The OPP reported on Wednesday that 48-year-old Mitchell Baker had turned himself in.

Police issued an arrest warrant for Baker last week on charges of aggravated assault and two counts of failing to comply with a recognizance.  The OPP have not stated if these charges have been laid.
