It's a question that's burned in the consciousness of every Windsor resident since the beginning of time, or at least it's nagged patrons at a downtown cannabis lounge since late last summer.
In a city that prides itself on its pie, who has the best pizza in Windsor?
At the final instalment of Pizza Fest at Higher Limits, it came down to four contestants: Cantina, Gino's, Armando's and Sam's.
Higher Limits owner, Alex Newman says it was a close competition.
"Very. It was almost an exact three-way split," he says. "Everybody came and put on a really good show."
At the end of the night, the winner was announced, and it was Sam's Pizzeria on Wyandotte St. W.
Newman says the event was such a success; he'd consider holding it again next year, and possibly branching out from just pizza.
"Maybe wings, baked goods," says Newman. "There's a lot of really good food in this city and a lot of really good independent places. We just really want to give independent restaurants a good chance to show off their product."
