The Essex Windsor Solid Waste Authority wants to reward Windsor residents who go the extra effort to recycle.
They want "A+ recyclers" to register for the Gold Star Recycler Program for the chance to win a golden recycle box and be entered into a draw for a $250 grand prize.
Those who register for the program will have their recycle boxes inspected on collection day to see if they are following all the rules set out in the recycle calendar handed out each year.
Boxes will be inspected to make sure materials are separated into two streams, with no cross contamination, and there are no materials in the boxes that are not accepted in the recycle program.
Those who pass the inspection will be given a gold box and entered into the draw.
The first 500 people who register on the EWSWA website will be eligible for the program.
Boxes will be inspected between Nov. 21 and December 16, 2016.
