Stabbing At West Windsor Apartment Building

Windsor police are interviewing witnesses after a stabbing at an apartment building at 605 Mill St.

Officers say the incident was first reported around 6am Wednesday.

Investigators say the 26-year-old male victim found in an apartment severely beaten, hands bound and suffering from multiple stab wounds and cuts to his body.  They do not believe this was a random act.

First-year social work student at the University of Windsor Seby Joseph lives in the building next door, and says hearing about a violent stabbing so close to his home makes him feel a bit uneasy.

"I know that this is not a good area, but why I took this place is to be close to the University, that's the main thing," he explains. "This news makes me really -- you know, kind of shocking news first thing in the morning."

Police are getting a search warrant for the apartment.

The victim was taken to Windsor Regional Hospital Ouellette Campus with serious injuries, but there's no word on his condition.

Anyone with information should call the Major Crimes Unit at 519-255-6700 ext. 4830.
