New Opportunities For St.Clair Students In Manufacturing

St. Clair College hopes a new pilot project will help students in the Business Administration - Human Resources program find jobs.

It's called GROW or Generating Resource Opportunities for Workforce, and it's a partnership with the Canadian Association of Mold Makers.

Recent graduates and alumni aged 18-29 years with specialized training in human resources and advanced understanding of the manufacturing industry will complete 100 hours of training in areas identified by the industry. Graduates of GROW will get a professional development certificate from the college.

Once participants have the certificate, they start a 12-week placement with a manufacturing company. A paid internship will begin in January.

Association Executive Director, Diane Deslippe is a strong supporter of the pilot project.

"We are confident that this program will have a huge positive impact on the business demands of our SME shops."

St. Clair College received $403,512 from the Ministry of Economic Development and Growth for the program.
