Second Year for Windsor ComiCon

The second Windsor ComiCon at Caesars Windsor is expected to attract more than 8000 people this weekend.

"People are so passionate about this and everyone has something like this that they're passionate about whether you're a fan of comics, or horror or gaming these ComiCon events bring together all these into one pop-culture festival," says Steve Menzie, president of Windsor ComiCon.

The event includes celebrity guests like Lou Ferrigno and Jason Priestley, artists, artisans and photo opportunities with the 1989 Batmobile.

Menzie says the community has truly embraced the event this year.

"The big difference for me this year is how much involvement and support we've gotten for the event, be it the media, the community groups, we did a mini ComiCon at the University of Windsor this year," says Menzie.

To kick off the event Lou Ferrigno from the Incredible Hulk and Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens competed in an arm wrestling match; Ferrigno won the match and earned the opportunity to cut the ribbon to open this event.

The event goes Saturday and Sunday and is open to all ages. Kids 6 and under are free with an adult. Tickets available online at windsorcomicon.com.
