Lakeshore councillors want a widespread report on the flood of September 29, 2016.
The report will include who was affected, what was the town's response and is there anything the town could have done differently.
"What did we do right and are there areas where we could improve? These one in 100-year floods are no longer one in 100. We're getting these type of high waters every five to ten years," says Bain. "We want to make sure that we've got an emergency plan in place that's going to handle these floods knowing that they are more frequent."
Councillors also asked the administration to look into possible subsidy programs for residents looking to put in backwater valves or sump-pumps.
Bain asks residents to be patient as they continue to pick up flood-damaged goods from residential properties .
