Ottawa Family's Dog Missing In Harrow

A family from Ottawa, with two Autistic children, is asking residents in Essex County to be on the lookout for its lost dog.

Sasha is a 3-year-old Golden Retriever, which police say ran from the area of the 6th Concession of Colchester South, near Heritage Village, Saturday evening.

Jackie Hicks tells the OPP her son and daughter both have Autism and depend on the therapy, guidance and companionship of the dog.

She says her son has not slept in three days since Sasha went missing, and the family has had to return home to Ottawa after visiting for Thanksgiving.

The Golden Retriever is an indoor dog, so the family is encouraging farmers to check their barns and garages.

Police say the last possible sighting was near Sunset Gardens, across from the Baptist Church on King St. in Harrow on Monday, around 4pm.

Anyone who finds Sasha is asked to call 613-761-8336 or the Ontario Provincial Police Essex County Detachment at 519-723-2491.
