Water Bill Changes Coming For LaSalle Residents

Starting in January, homeowners in LaSalle won't see their water charges on their Essex Powerlines bill anymore.

They'll still get their bill from Essex Powerlines, but it'll be for hydro use only.

The Town of LaSalle will issue the water bill separately.

The town expects to save $100,000 a year by bringing billing in-house. It should also be easier for residents to get customer service complaints resolved since they will deal with the town directly.

Residential customers will get a bill every three months and payments will be due on the last Friday of the month the bill is issued.

There is a change to the billing process for renters too. They won't get the bill. The property owner will. The town will still accept payment from renters but making sure the account is paid up will be the property owner's responsibility.

Commercial, industrial, institutional and multi-residential customers typically use more water than residential customers, so they'll still get a monthly bill, due on the last Friday the month the bill goes out.

Those who want to pay by pre-authorized payment will have to contact the Town of LaSalle's finance department.
