Police Lay Hit And Run Charges

A 23-year-old Harrow man is being charged after two people on a motorcycle were seriously injured in a crash just over a week ago — a crash in which one of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries.

Officers with the Amherstburg Police Service responded to the crash on County Rd. 9 (Howard Ave.) near Alma St. on September 16 at about 9:15pm.

Police reported the motorcycle involved was forced off the road by an unknown vehicle.

Both victims in the crash were sent to hospital.

Three days later, police would release photos of vehicles believed to be similar to that of the suspect vehicle — a silver 2000 - 2012 Saab 9-3 or 9-5.

Today, officers announced a suspect had been arrested in connection with the crash and charged.

The accused is charged with two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm as well as a fail to stop at the scene of an accident involving bodily harm.

Both victims remain in hospital.
