WSO Set To Play At The Capitol Theatre

The Windsor Symphony Orchestra kicks off its 2016-2017 season Saturday night at the Capitol Theatre.

For the first time in a number of years the orchestra will be expanded to a full 65 piece symphony orchestra. It will also be the first time the WSO performs in the newly renovated theatre. The renovations include new seating and improvements to the sound.

"We open our season with a facelift in our hall and a renewed commitment to our responsibility to be a cultural pillar in Windsor and throughout southwest Ontario," says Maestro Robert Franz.

The 69th season of the orchestra opens with a performance of Chopin's Piano in Concerto no. 2. World renowned pianist Charles Richard-Hamelin joins the orchestra in the performance along with the Windsor Symphony youth orchestra seniors. The first performance is sold out.

The WSO has over 75 performances planned this year at the Capitol Theatre and around the county. They perform many different musical styles like the classics, broadway and the songs of the Beatles. For show and ticket information click here.
