A $90,000 project sees a new clock standing tall at the four corners in Kingsville.
The clock is part of a beautification project started in the spring of last year by the Kingsville BIA. Benches and greenery will be added around the clock standing at the corner of Division St. and Main St. to make it a more inviting place for people.
Sarah Holland, BIA coordinator, hopes it helps people better enjoy the downtown.
"We wanted to create a space that visitors and locals can come, they can relax and enjoy the downtown," says Holland.
The clock was installed on Friday morning.
"It's very impressive," says Holland. "It definitely has a presence at the corner now."
The $90,000 figure isn't the final cost of the project as added touches including the coming landscaping will see the cost rise. The clock itself cost about $35,000. Holland says about 90% of the project cost has been covered by fundraising through fashion shows as well as campaigns to dedicate bricks and plaques.
The Town of Kingsville was also a key partner in getting the new clock up.
"We could not have done this project without the support of the municipality," says Holland.
