Convenience Stores Robbed By Man With Hammer (VIDEO)

Police in Windsor and Tecumseh are investigating after two similar convenience store robberies by a man armed with a claw hammer.

The Windsor Police Service says on Thursday around 9:30am, officers were called to Lauzon Rd. near Little River Rd. in Windsor, after a man entered a store and threatened the clerk with a hammer. The suspect grabbed a small amount of cash before quickly leaving the store.

The Ontario Provincial Police say a similar robbery also occurred on Friday around 11:20am, at Low Price Convenience at 701 St. Pierre St. in Tecumseh. A man armed with a claw hammer attended the store and demanded money. The clerk attempted to fight off the robber, but the man was able to make off with an unknown amount of cash.

The suspect in the second robbery was wearing sunglasses, a grey hooded sweatshirt, and white running shoes.

No injuries were reported at either robbery.
