Leamington's New OB Getting Top Praise

Leamington's new obstetrician is getting top praise from his patients after just two weeks on the job.

Dr. Ken Ogah comes from Sydney, Nova Scotia and started his new position in Leamington on June 21.

Already women are posting rave reviews online.

"I'm so shocked to have had a very polite, nice and reassuring OB since the departure of Dr. Chan," one woman writes on Spotted in Leamington.

She recently went to the OB department at Leamington District Memorial Hospital. The woman went on to say Ogah helped the nurse clean up after her testing was done.

"Wait did I just see what I think I saw," she says. "First time in my life seeing a doctor try and help clean up."

Soon after another positive post from Chantelle Melissa.

"I've never met a doctor with such amazing bedside manner. He was also incredibly knowledgeable and checked in on me three times within the span of an hour," she says.

In 2014 Leamington's OB unit was to close, but has since been saved by additional government funding. The Ontario government said back in March it has committed $1.3-million annually to keep the OB unit open.
