UPDATE: Alleged Shooter Facing Attempted Murder Charge

A 20-year-old Windsor man is facing a number of charges, including attempted murder after Wednesday's Walkerville shooting.

The accused is Kyle Williston and was in court Friday afternoon to be charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possessing a dangerous weapon, pointing a firearm and breaching firearms prohibitions.

He was arrested Thursday afternoon in the 1000-block of Henry Ford Blvd. without incident. A handgun linked to the shooting was located and seized after a search warrant was executed on Monmouth St.

On Wednesday, June 22, a 25-year-old was shot on Wyandotte St. E near Walker Rd. after an altercation in a Tim Horton's parking lot. The victim had surgery and is currently in stable condition.

There are no additional suspects and Major Crime Branch continue to investigate.
