The Essex Region Conservation Authority (ERCA) has issued a flood watch for the region due to potential high winds.
Winds of 22-30 km/hr out of the east-northeast and northeast are predicted to hit the region over the weekend. The conservation authority says this will create an increased possibility for flooding, shoreline erosion and damaging waves.
ERCA says the areas that may be affected are the Lake Erie shoreline on the east side of Pelee Island, along the southeast shoreline of the Municipality of Leamington between Wheatley Harbour and Point Pelee, along the Lake St. Clair shoreline at the western limit of the Town of Lakeshore, the Town of Tecumseh and the eastern limit of the City of Windsor.
The advisory will remain in effect until 9am on Monday.
