Grand Prix Ticket Packages Announced

The Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix is introducing multiple ticket packages to Windsor fans to help alleviate concerns of the low Canadian dollar.

"It was very important for us to make sure the Windsor folks can attend without having to dip too far into their pocket because of the exchange rate so we offered an extra package this year," says Michael Montri, general manager for the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix.

Single-day tickets start at $55 Canadian for general admission or $95 for a reserved grandstand ticket- both ticket prices include transportation to and from the event on Transit Windsor.

Our general admission package is a lower ticket price for us, we discounted it even further to hit a lower ticket point for the folks of Windsor," says Montri.

The City of Windsor purchased a $50,000 sponsorship package that supports the partnership for the ticket packages. With the package the City will sponsor the media tent and have a dedicated City of Windsor grandstand.

"We're thankful that the Grand Prix continues to offer us the same sponsorship that they have for many years. Even though the dollar has changed we have not upped our sponsorship and we still continue to receive favourable promotion," says Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens.

The Grand Prix is June 3-5, 2016. The event includes the IndyCar race, live music, a midway, and autograph sessions with the drivers. Tickets are on sale now.
