UDPATE: Fire Forces Evacuation Of Retirement Home

Damage is pegged at around $150,000 following a fire at an east Windsor retirement home.

Fire officials say an entire floor of Amica at Windsor at 4909 Riverside Dr. E had to be evacuated Wednesday after a fire broke out at around 10:15pm.

Fire officials say the blaze started in Unit 206 and caused the sprinkler system to activate.

All residents on the floor made it out safely, and the fire was quickly extinguished.

An investigator from the Ontario Fire Marshal's Office and an engineer were at scene on Friday.

The cause of the fire remains undetermined pending results of tests, however it is not believed to be suspicious.
