Brighter Days Ahead For Wyandotte And Drouillard

As of Monday morning, commuters in the City of Windsor will have to take a detour around the intersection of Wyandotte St. E and Drouillard Rd.

Phase two of a beautification project that started last fall is underway and the city's Manager of Parks Development, Mike Clement says the underpass is getting a facelift.

"We'll be doing some slope stabilization in there, re-lighting it to make it brighter at night, installing railings, an overall painting job on it and adding some landscaping."

When the underpass reopens at the end of May, Clement says it'll look similar to underpasses on Walker Rd. and on Howard Ave.

"It'll be a great gateway for both Drouillard Rd. as well as Walker."

The entire project is expected to cost around $800,000.
