Rally To Support Abused Women Still On

The Welcome Centre Shelter for Women is still holding a rally Saturday night to empower women who have been abused.

The Director of Development Remy Boulbul says it's no longer about the hateful message spread by the group Return of Kings that cancelled its world-wide meet ups this week.

"This kind of rhetoric and this kind of conversation makes so many women who have suffered feel vulnerable again," says Boulbul. "We wanted to make sure that those women know that you are not alone and this community of Windsor-Essex does not condone that, and does not stand for it."

Organizers expect hundreds of people at the rally being held at the Bert Weeks Memorial Garden on the riverfront. It starts at 7pm.

Boulbul says this has sparked an important conversation and inspired many to get involved in the fight against violence against woman.
