As holiday shopping ramps up, Windsor police are reminding retailers and consumers to be on the look out for counterfeit bills.
Police say there have been a number of counterfeit US bills reported in recent weeks. Some are better counterfeits then others but if you know what to look for most are fairly obvious.
"Take a quick look. Look for the security thread, look for the ghost image, take a look at the eyes if you can and even just the texture. If I were to pick one of these up...this feels like paper, it doesn't even feel real," says Constable Rob Durling with the Financial Crimes unit of the Windsor Police Service.

Last week a shopping bag full of very obvious counterfeit US $100 bills was found in an alley in the Walkerville area. This prompted police to reach out to the public and remind them to be aware of the bills they are handling this holiday season.
