Veterans Remembered At Leamington Cenotaph (Gallery)

While hundreds gathered around the Leamington cenotaph to remember veterans who fought for Canada, one WWII vet was most happy to see the students.

Bill Hutchinson of Leamington flew Lancaster Bombers on aid missions at the end of the war.

"It is so gratifying to see the student turn out from Leamington District Secondary School," he says. "I just hope they have learned something and appreciate what went on umpteen years ago."

Hutchinson walked with other vets and emergency service workers through uptown Leamington to the cenotaph in Dieppe Park.

It was one of nearly a dozen ceremonies which took place in Kingsville, Cottam, Harrow, Essex, Amherstburg, LaSalle, and Belle River today.
