Amherstburg councillors are in agreement on a settlement for a 2013 lawsuit.
Mayor Aldo DiCarlo tells BlackburnNews.com the lawsuit from Facca Incorporated was over tax money owed to the company during the transition to the HST.
"We believe that it was a fair settlement and the town understood that we did owe some form of taxes, it was just a question as to the amount," says DiCarlo.
The mayor is happy to be done with a piece of litigation hanging over council's head and feels the settlement shows the town is making progress in clearing up oustanding issues.
"If nothing else, at least now we know what costs we do have and we don't have to try and budget not knowing what future costs we may have," says DiCarlo.
The town still has one more lawsuit from Facca outstanding.
